ATTENTION, PLEASE! We're asking for your assistance in order to build a large database of Point historical information.
Please send us any information (or photos, printed materials, or other memorabilia) you may have regarding The Point's history, founding, development, families, cottages, events, celebrations, tragedies, activities, facilities, athletics, social, religious, and other activities and events.
Send any Point-related information to us by e-mail and/or photos and other materials as e-mail attachments (preferably in .jpg format). This way, you won't have to relinquish your originals - even temporarily! (Or send them by other means, if you prefer.)
Some people have already submitted very interesting photos and other memorabilia. We thank them!
Now, how about the rest of you? Virtually ALL Pointers have photos and other Point-related materials. How about contributing to the cause?

Where do Pointers come from?
In the early years, most Pointers came from the Chicago area. Since, there has been a migration throughout the country - with the preponderance now coming from Michigan, as the following graphs show (source: Member and Non-Member lists):

For those interested in Point area history:
Visit the Oceana Historical Society Museum in Mears - in the former home of the late Swift (aka: "Swifty") Lathers, local legend and publisher of "the world's smallest newspaper," The Mears Newz.
The Chadwick-Munger House (behind the courthouse on Dryden Street in Hart) - another must for history buffs.
