LPSA Social Events held in 2007:
June 30, Sat.: Annual Picnic -16th hole, 5:30 pm social hour, 6:30 pm dinner.
Bring table service, beverage and dish to share. (We decided not to have a grill this year.)
Start the season in style! Jeannie and Ron Kuykendall in charge.
July 10, Tue.: Nature Preserve Walk -10:00 am at main entrance.
Let's use our wonderful Nature Preserve. Bill Paxton in charge.
July 14, Sat.: Dog Sports Demonstration - 10:00 am at the ball field.
Members of The Capital City Canine Club of Lansing and others will return to show us dog sports - agility, obedience and fly ball. Marilyn and Mark Johnson in charge.
July 20, Fri.: Double J Ranch Pig Roast and Rodeo - 6:30 pm - Pig Roast, 8:00 pm - Rodeo.
Prices: Not set yet, but expected to be slightly above last year when it was $18 adults and $12 Children, dinner and rodeo. Children under three free. Pay at Ranch. Lower prices for dinner or rodeo only.
Directions: Exit #136 off 31 (Rothbury), left off exit for 1/2 mile to Water Rd., left for 2/3 mile to “Back 40” at Ranch. Diners may take hay ride to rodeo. Bill Paxton in charge.
July 27, Friday: Throlf Tournament -1st hole at 10:00 am.
Divisions: Men 18 and over; Boys (under 7, 7-12, 13-17);
Women 18 and over; Girls (under 7, 7-12, 13-17).
First places win Crolf balls and certificates; 2nd places win certificates. Chuck Thompson in charge.
August 1, Wed.: Sand Sculpture Contest.- 2:00 pm at Johnsons' beach, 749 Glen Road.
4:00 pm - judging by spectators. Prizes for all ages. Jane Paxton in charge, Bob Dustan for signs and advice.
August 3, Fri.: Square Dance - 7:30 pm at tennis courts.
Carol Kelly will again be our caller. Cookies and soft drinks. Bill Paxton in charge.
August 14, Tue.: Nature Preserve Walk - 10:00 am at main entrance. (Same as July 7.)
August 16, Wed. or Aug. 17, Thurs. - Walk to lighthouse and climb up.
Start on beach at Sunset Trail. Time and day plus fee for lighthouse TBA.
Note: There were Nature Preserve special events scheduled separately by the Memorial Nature Preserve Board.
